The other advantage of full height shutters is they offer an extra layer of insulation, great for heat retention in the winter.

If you only want shutters to cover part of your window, then café style shutters are the perfect option. Sleek, minimalist and stylish, they are great if you have a room overlooking a busy street and are craving a bit of privacy. They are suitable for kitchens, bathrooms, living rooms and even offices.

Tier on tier shutters are perfect if you want complete control over your light and privacy. Giving a similar look to full height shutters, they allow you to open the top and bottom panels independently of each other, which in effect, means you can convert them into a café style installation.

These are often used in bathrooms and bedrooms where privacy is key.

Bay window shutters for a classic window style

If you’re lucky enough to have bay windows, then definitely consider having shutters. Not only do they take up less room than curtains, but you’ll also be able to open the panels or simply tilt the louvers to adjust to your light and privacy needs.
